Patchy hair loss

Patchy hair loss is experienced as the loss of hair in well-defined areas of the scalp while the remaining scalp retains a good covering of hair.

This is most commonly caused by alopecia areata with normal underlying skin. Some people may experience moving patches, ie. that the hair in one patch starts to grow again while another bald patch develops elsewhere.

Patch hair loss may also be caused by ringworm, in which case small patches of hair loss are associated with dandruff-like scaling of the scalp and stubby, broken hair shafts within the bald area. This condition is highly contagious and it may affect young children, but it is not a serious threat to health.

Bioscal® is used to remove obstacles to natural, healthy hair growth, to prepare and stimulate the scalp for new hair growth and to optimize the growth conditions for the new hair. However, underlying medical disorders, such as ringworm, should be treated by medical practitioners.
